Why is Everyone Obsessed with a Ball from Last Night's Episode?

If you've been on Twitter or Facebook lately, you've likely come across the now (hopefully) settled controversy over a ball seen on last night's episode of Ghost Hunters. So far it seems like people were uncertain of the ball's origin (paranormal or otherwise) and were wondering why nobody seemed to react to it. Here's a recap of all the confusion, if you feel out of the loop.

The ball in question appears in this part of the investigation with Jason, Grant. and Maddie (the star of last night's show for many) around the 45 minute mark.

Amy has posted this on Twitter:

For everyone still talking about the ball. We tagged it, and I knew what it was from reviewing the evidence and having been in the room... [ ] Myself that evening. I swear, some people will just run with any little thing and cry foul. Calm down. It was just a ball and I'm... [ ] Sure there wasn't enough time for the editors to include an explanation.(Like the money we used as a trigger object but was never explained).

Adam added this:

there was a ball in that room from the kids toy room and we were playing with it and maddie loved it as well [ ] Hey everyone! There was a ball in the kids toy room and we were playing with it and maddie loved it ad played with it to. It looks blk in IR

Jason's thoughts on Facebook:

Commenting on episode that aired last night and everyone asking::
I know there was a ball that Maddie was playing with earlier in the night on Hillview case but I have not seen

the show to say if it was that or not. That ball was in a room on other side of building.

Hopefully that clears up all the confusion about this ball seen during the episode.

Meredith Vieira Investigates with the Ghost Hunters; Jason & Grant to Appear on 'Millionaire'

Meredith Vieira, host of Who Wants to be Millionaire?, recently joined the Ghost Hunters team during their investigation of Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden in Staten Island, NY. She will be appearing as a special guest in an episode which will air on October 26th.

Jason and Grant will then be returning the favor when they make a guest appearance on Millionaire on Halloween day. The duo also appeared on the show last year and donated all of their winnings to a local children's hospital.

'Urgent' Episode Recap

The season premiere of Ghost Hunters picked up exactly where the last episode left off, with Jason and Grant leaving Hawaii and preparing for a case to help a family. The rest of the team stayed behind in Hawaii to analyze the evidence. Amy and Dave, aided by Jason and Grant via video conferencing, presented the evidence that they team found at the Pacific Aviation Museum. The team recorded voices, including two very clear EVPs that sound like yelling in the hangar. The team also caught video evidence of a light that Amy and Adam had seen earlier in the evening.

Back in Rhode Island, Jason and Grant, along with Steve and KJ, headed off to the Reid House to help a family that was fearful of the paranormal activity in their home. Steve and KJ got faint geophone hits on the stairs, indicating that something might be trying to walk down them. Jason and Grant found high EMFs in the "bad" living room (which makes the homeowner's daughter uncomfortable) and more upstairs in the bedrooms. They heard voices and footsteps from the other room and some K2 hits. Steve and KJ encountered random EMF spikes on the stairs and Jason and Grant discovered even more EMF emitting devices in the basement. They conclude that the family needs to have it evaluated by an electrician to (hopefully) stop the "creepy" feelings. Upon evidence review, they do find a female laugh.

Ghost Hunters returns for an all new season this Wednesday! The episode will feature the results of the team's Pearl Harbor investigation (which aired in June) and the urgent case that caused Jason and Grant to leave Hawaii early.

The season premiere of Ghost Hunters, entitled Urgent, will air at 9 PM on the Syfy channel.

Amy & Adam Talk About Their First Paranormal Experiences, Pranks, & More

BlogCritics.org has a new interview online with Amy Bruni and Adam Berry. The TAPS duo talk about their experiences working with each other on the show, their start in the paranormal field, frightening encounters with the living (not the dead) on the road, Steve's hilarious reaction to a bug in the TAPS van, and more.
Amy: ...But anyways, wherever it was, there were huge bugs and Steve was in the TAPS van and Jay was in the van with them. They were looking at the cameras and this huge June bug flies into the van. And when Steve sees something like that all rational thought leaves him. There is no like it’s a bug, I’m going to calmly exit the van. It is I am going to kill it, I am going to freak out. And so he just starts grabbing at anything, the keyboard, the cameras, something to hit this bug with. And so Jay has to grab him and literally almost put him in a headlock until this bug went away. And we didn’t know what was going on and we see this whole van like rocking all over the place. Like what is going on in there and it was all from some little bug and Steve was freaking out.

Reminder: Ghost Hunters International Season Finale Tonight on Syfy

Ghost Hunters International wraps ups its 2011 season tonight on Syfy at 9 PM!

Amazon.com Reveals 2 Upcoming Books by Jason & Grant

While searching Amazon.com for Jason and Grant's newest young adult book, Ghost Hunt 2, two suggested books reveal upcoming publications from the TAPS team leaders.

The first is Ghost Files: The Collected Cases from Ghost Hunting and Seeking Spirits. Amazon lists this book's release date as September 13, 2011. From the description:
FINALLY IN ONE BONE-CHILLING VOLUME, TV’S GHOST HUNTERS SHARE ALL OF THEIR CREEPY TRUE STORIES OF UNEXPLAINED PHENOMENA!
What did a paranormal investigation uncover at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado, the hotel built in 1903 that inspired Stephen King’s The Shining?
What is the chilling history behind the Rolling Hills Asylum in Batavia, New York?
What happened when a man was overcome by an evil entity as Jason and Grant surveyed his home?
How can a Connecticut woman seem to exist in two places at once?
In this hair-raising omnibus, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, founders of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (T.A.P.S.), reveal the memorable and spine-tingling cases featured in their smash-hit collections, Ghost Hunting andSeeking Spirits. From their never-seen-on-television adventures as budding paranormal investigators to the behind-the-scenes accounts of heart-pounding supernatural encounters featured on their popular show, these fascinating and frightening real life tales will keep you up at night!
As the title suggests, the book contains extracts from both Ghost Hunt and Seeking Spirits, which have been published previously. It is uncertain if the book will have have any new content that hasn't been seen before.

The second book is Ghost Trackers by Jason Hawes. Listed under the fiction section, the book "introduce readers to a team of paranormal investigators who reunite to defeat a sinister force they unleashed long ago. . . ." The book doesn't have a release date or even a cover at this point, but offers this short description:

In this spine-tingling new series, the stars of TV’s GHOST HUNTERS introduce readers to a team of paranormal investigators who reunite to defeat a sinister force they unleashed long ago. . . .
For fifteen years, Amber, Drew, and Trevor have barely been able to recall-let alone explain-what happened the terrifying night they decided to explore the old, abandoned Lowry House. According to local legend, the house was cursed by a dark past and inhabited by evil. It burst into flames on the night of their visit, leaving the friends traumatized and nearly dead with only vague memories of the frightening events they had witnessed inside. Now, on the eve of their high school reunion, they have gathered to reopen their investigation and figure out, once and for all, what took place that fateful night . . . before the supernatural entity they escaped threatens to overtake them again.

'Ghost Hunt 2' Set for September 2011 Release

Last September, Jason and Grant published their first young adult book entitled Ghost Hunt: Chilling Tales of the Unknown. Now their publishers have revealed that a sequel is in the works! The new book, entitled Ghost Hunt 2: More Chilling Tales of the Unknown, seems to follow the same premise as its predecessor and features "terrifying tales based on real cases from The Atlantic Paranormal Society". From the publisher's website:

Ghost Hunt 2 has more ghosts, more cases, and more chills!
Is Alcatraz prison really haunted by ghostly inmates--or is something in the air causing hallucinations? Can the ocean be haunted? Are glowing red eyes in the woods just an animal--or something more sinister? Unlock these mysteries and many more in this chilling collection of terrifying tales based on real cases from The Atlantic Paranormal Society.
Find more details and tips on ghost hunting than ever before!
Amazon.com states that the release date for the book will be September 5, 2011 and will also be available on the Kindle. You can pre-order the book via the links provided.

Murders and Mysteries: England and New Zealand (8/10/11)

Before arriving at their investigation, the team makes a stop at a "fairy bridge" and offers some gifts as part of the local lore. Their case is Castle Rushen in the Isle of Man which dates back to the 13th century. Barry feels his knee get grabbed and sees a shadow in a window in the Lord's Chamber. Joe and Scott are able to debunk claims of a door opening on its own and hear a faint humming. Susan sees a ball of mist and feels uneasy in the 17th century room. Joe and Scott also hear footsteps in the same area. At the top of castle, Kris and Barry attempt to find the spirit of the "lady in black".The team records several sounds including footsteps and humming. GHI then takes to the skies and flies over to earthquake riddled New Zealand to investigate the Riccarton Racecourse Hotel. Joe and Scott hear noises in the bar and Joe feels something touch his leg. Kris and Barry try provoking the spirit of Donald Fraiser (murdered owner of the hotel) and see if they can find evidence of blood on the floor. Paul and Susan detect natural EMF spikes in the bar and after the case is done, the team stays together in a house. A clear EVP is captured saying 'I don't know'.

2 Episode Recaps for 'Touched by the Dead' & 'Search for the She-Wolf'

Episode recaps for the July 27th and August 3rd episodes of Ghost Hunters International.

Touched by the Dead: Ireland (7/27/11)

The team investigates Roe Valley Hospital in Ireland. Barry and Paul attempt to recreate a photo at the bridge and hear movement. Kris and Susan try to communicate with spirits in the women's dorm and hear knocks. Joe and Scott see movement on the cameras while Kris and Susan are investigating. Paul feels something on his hand in the kitchen and Scott feels a hand on his back in the maternity ward. Joe hears a baby crying. Before reviewing evidence. the team attempts to play the bagpipes and experience some Irish culture. Although they couldn't recreate the client's photo, they believe their cameras only caught a reflection in the women's dorm while Kris and Susan were investigating. GHI then boards a boat and heads out to Spike Island. Joe feels something on his wrist and Scott sees a figure in Mitchel Hall. Kris and Barry attempt to attract a banshee and hear hissing in the drill shed. Movement is recorded on camera and several voices are recorded, one saying "come in".

Search for the She-Wolf: England (8/3/11)

The international band of ghost hunters are in Paul's homeland and investigating Castle Rising in Norfolk. They bring their client Norman in during the investigation to learn if he could be the cause of the paranormal activity. Barry and Kris measure temperature drops and see lights when they are in the dungeons with Norman. Paul and Susan attempt to recreate a photo of a ghostly horse on the bridge with mixed results. Joe feels a tap on his shoulder and Scott hears footsteps and faint voices in the Great Hall basement. Barry and Kris attempt to debunk their earlier experiences in the dungeons and Kris feels her hair get pulled (may not be paranormal). Paul, Susan, and Norman hear a growl outside of the White Room during their EVP session. Kris and Barry investigate the claims of doors opening by themselves in the reception room and Scott and Joe find human remains in the dungeons. Scott feels sick and something on his neck. Kris and Barry hear noises and footsteps in the church ruins and Paul and Susan hear fabric moving in the Great Hall basement. The team captures an EVP "go home", video of the lights, and door opening early in the morning.

'Touched By the Dead: Ireland' Sneak Peek

Ghost Hunters International returns for another new episode this Wednesday on SyFy. Check out a sneak peek of that episode below!

Video no longer available.

'Sensing Evil: Argentina and Trinidad' Episode Recap

The Ghost Hunters International team took on two cases, one in Argentina and the other in Trinidad, on this the July 20th episode.

The team's first case takes them to Chacachacore Island in Trinidad. Kris and Barry hear movement in the chapel. Joe feels a tightening in his chest and a creepy sensation in the nun's quarters while investigating with Scott. Paul and Susan hear voices, shadows, and movement in the infirmary and Susan feels her backpack move on its own. Kris and Barry hear an exhalation and in the cemetery can hear a woman's voice. The team captures faint footsteps, a voice, "go", and "get out". Research reveals that a nun did die at the location under mysterious circumstances. GHI then travels to a slaughter house in Argentina. Barry hears a voice call out "Kris" in the main slaughter lot. Paul and Susan are able to attribute the claims of  women's voices to pigeons in the social area. Scott and Joe hear a cough and see a figure move from the left to right in the cold room. Susan and Paul hear a shuffling sound in the main area. When looking at photos, the team debunks the orbs and records a voice saying "It's my job".

Don't miss another new episode of GHI on Wednesday at 9/8c on Syfy!

'Rising From the Dead: Trinidad' Episode Recap

Ghost Hunters International kicked off its third season last Wednesday with a viewer boost to 1.17 million viewers! The first episode features their investigation of the Lopinot Plantation in Trinidad. Here's a recap of what happened:

Kris and Barry start off the evening with an EVP session in the cocoa house/jail. Paul and Susan hear footsteps and a voice above them when in the main house. They also hear a door slam (a claim), but think that the cause of the sound could be the wind. Barry's camera equipment malfunctions near the Gomez Cave and Barry see a figure in front of him that he believes is Kris, until he realizes that she is behind him. They also hear movement around them. Joe and Scott have trouble working with the thermal in the same location, but do capture strange figures on tape, as well as see a flash of light. Paul and Susan discover that the "blood" that is claimed to be on the hanging tree is actually just natural resin that appears to be red. Back by the river, Kris sees a figure move in the brush, but it leaves no marks of its presence. While investigating in the cemetery, Joe and Scott notice that a lot of dogs start barking at once, which could signal paranormal activity. Susan feels something touch her leg as her and Paul leave the caves after hearing noises inside. Once the investigation is over, the team tries to learn more about steel drums and even tries to create their own "music". Upon evidence review, the figures that Joe and Scott saw by the river are debunked to be Paul and Susan. The team records a growl and video footage of a light in a tree, as well as a figure by the river (as seen by Kris earlier in the investigation.)

A new episode of GHI will air on Wednesday!

New Kris Williams & Barry FitzGerald Interviews Roundup

A few new interviews have appeared online with Ghost Hunters International investigators Kris Williams and Barry FitzGerald.

Big Daddy Horror Reviews interviewed both team leaders. Barry shares an account of a life threatening paranormal experience and they also address the dangers of investigating, as well as sharing an experience where  the team was followed by an entity.

On the subject of personal experiences, what has been the most life-threatening paranormal encounter you've experienced?
Barry Fitzgerald: ...would be the biggest one for me, would have been off the show. And it nearly drowned me in Slovakia - or sorry, not Slovakia, in Snagov in Romania, just a little Transylvania. And whatever that was that was in the water, it's not good. And that was the most challenging thing I have come up against to date.

AOL Weird News interviewed Kris Williams and she discussed being star struck by Meat Loaf and the challenges of respecting cultural beliefs while investigating the paranormal.

"I grew up with him [Meatloaf]," Williams told AOL Weird News. "I knew his music and I loved him in 'Fight Club,' but when I heard he was going to be on the show, I promised myself I wouldn't ask about 'Fight Club,' or 'Bat Out Of Hell.' I didn't think he wanted to hear that. I thought, 'He probably gets that all the time.'"
Oh, but the tables were turned.
"I couldn't believe it," she said. "He was so into the show, he was asking me about particular investigations and what really happened. I thought to myself, 'He's doing to me what I promised myself I wouldn't do to him.'"

Barry FitzGerald on Live Paranormal Tonight

LiveParanormal.com will be presenting an exclusive interview with Ghost Hunters International lead investigator Barry FitzGerald later today. The interview will be conducted via live video chat at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT.

New Kris Williams & Scott Tepperman Interviews

With just under one week to go until the season premiere, two new interviews have emerged online with Ghost Hunters International team members Kris Williams & Scott Tepperman.
In an interview with Examiner.com, new team lead Kris Williams discusses reconciling her skepticism with her investigating, her interest in genealogy, the new season, and more.
Will we see a lot of instances in the new season where you walk into a location expecting to find nothing-- or to be able to scientifically reason everything you may come into contact with-- only to be surprised by what may leave you hanging?
K.W.: It’s funny because there have been a lot of cases-- it sounds horrible but there are a lot of cases where I’m like ‘Nothing’s here! It used to be a funeral home; it’s a dungeon; of course people are going to get creeped out; give me a break!’ But once we get into the investigation, the craziest stuff comes out. There was one location in which I saw this huge six-foot tall shape-- shadow-- of a man, and it started from one dark corner and walked to the next, and while it was doing this I heard the door that it was next to unlock. You can’t always go by feeling on a place, that’s for sure, because you could be surprised. And there’s always the places we’ll go to where none of us will have personal experiences, but then there’s something on our audio or on our video that we can’t explain, and we’ll go back and try to pull it apart a little bit more and we still won’t be able to explain it.
Fellow investigator Scott Tepperman was also interviewed by a local Tallahassee news station along with a member of his own paranormal team, the APLHA Ghost Team. You can watch the video interview via this link.
Don't forget that the new season of Ghost Hunters International will premiere its new season on July 13th on Syfy!

News Roundup: Scott's New Book, Kris's Favorite Doors' Songs

Here are a few pieces of news that should have been posted on here a little while ago, but unfortunately weren't. At least they are here now!

Ghost Hunters International's Scott Tepperman has published a new book entitled Chasing Winter. It is a collection of poems that document Scott's experiences traveling the world. It is available at Lulu.com. Here's an excerpt from the book that helps explain the book's title.
First off, I chose the name of my book "Chasing Winter", since it encompass both a literal and figurative meaning. Most likely due to budgetary considerations or to availability/accommodation factors, our filming schedules often place us in locations during the off-season or less desirable time of the year - hence we LITERALLY find ourselves "chasing winter."
Check out a preview below!

On a related note, GHI's Tech Manager Paul Bradford has also published his own book Wish You Were Here. The book features Paul's images from his travels around the world and has received great reviews.

Also, in a new interview, Kris Williams revealed her top 10 favorite songs from the the band The Doors (familiar to anyone who follows her on Twitter, or at least it should be).

Kris Williams Blogs About GHI Season 3

Kris Williams recently updated her blog and gave fans a taste of what they can expect in Season 3 of Ghost Hunters International.
I am currently home on break after running circles for the last few months with my team over on GHI! All of us are having a blast working together and can not wait for you all to see the new season!
We start off in Trinidad at an old coco plantation and over the past few months have also hit Argentina, England, Isle of Man, Ireland, New Zealand and American Samoa! There are a few locations that will definitely change my list of "favorite cases" whether it be for the adventure, debunking or insane paranormal activity...
She also addressed her feelings about being the first female co-lead (of the GHI team) in the Ghost Hunters series.
On top of all of this, I have been finding my way as the first female co-lead on a Ghost Hunters series... I take it as a huge honor and hope to make you guys proud. I have even been getting a little louder with my skeptic ways..

The third season of GHI will premiere on Wednesday, July 13th on SyFy.

New GhostVillage Interview Reveals Grant Wilson's Creative Side

As part of a new feature on GhostVillage.com feature showcasing creativity in the paranormal community, Grant Wilson sat down for an in depth interview about his novels, music, & raising his family in the arts.

Image property of Grant Wilson/GhostVillage.com
Included in the interview are samples of some drawings Grant has done for his fantasy novel project (which isn't quite a graphic novel). Grant also discusses how he adapts his creative process for creating music while on the road with Ghost Hunters.

Grant's advice for aspiring talent...
Don't ever give up. Write, draw, play, paint, sing whatever YOU enjoy, and let the world say what they will. Make art for you, if you only make it for others you'll never make true art. It's ok to make it for others, but make sure you make some for you. Chances are, what you make for yourself will be more prized than anything you make for others.
Be sure to read the full interview and see more of Grant's artwork here.

TAPS Investigates Missouri State Penitentiary

The Ghost Hunters crew was recently in Missouri, investigating the Missouri State Penitentiary.

Jason Grant were originally scheduled to attend the announcement of the investigation, but were not able to make it.

As usual, the details of their investigation are secret are top secret, although a tour guide did say that the team was "in aw" of the location and that they had never seen a more massive prison.

The episode featuring the prison should air sometime later this year as part of Season 7.

The prison was in operation from the late 1800s until 2004. It now operates as a museum that can be toured by the public.

Read the 'Pearl Harbor Phantoms' Recap

Here's a recap of what happened on last night's special episode of Ghost Hunters 'Pearl Harbor Phantoms' (or should we say Part 1?).

Image property of http://www.pacificaviationmuseum.org/.

For the first time, the TAPS team headed to Hawaii to investigate the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, site of the infamous December 1941 attack. They are joined by Destination Truth's Josh Gates and Britt Griffith (w/o Steve). Jason, Grant, & Josh hear movement, find random K2s, and see a window get blacked out in Hangar 79. Dave & Britt are able to find high EMFs in the artifacts trailer that could be the cause of claims of paranormal activity. Back in Hangar 79, Amy & Adam first hear noises and then see a bright light. Dave & Britt set up a full spectrum camera in the same area in hopes of catching the light on camera. While they are looking for animals on the thermal, Jason & Grant hear footsteps above them in Hangar 79. When Amy, Josh, & Britt team up for a flashlight session in Hangar 37, the flashlight lights up and rolls away (twice), before staying silent the rest of the night. Jason, Grant, & Josh hear walking and see a low moving shadow in Hangar 37. Dave discovers that the word "bullet" seems to cause some activity in Hangar 79 and in Hangar 37 Jason & Grant hear running. Josh, Britt, & Dave see a shadow that turns into a light source later in the same hangar.

As the team heads home, Steve calls Jay & Grant and tells them about an urgent case involving a family. Jay and Grant decide to head home straight away and leave the rest of team to sort the evidence.

We'll get to see the evidence that the team caught on August 24th when the second half of Season 7 premieres!

This recap and many others can be read on our episode guide page!

Another Interview with Amy & Adam: Scaring Steve & More

SciFi Vision has posted more of the conference call interview with Amy & Adam mentioned in the last post. The lengthy interview contains lots of interesting little tidbits including: a memorable experience with Meat Loaf, the place they would most like to investigate, their road schedule, pranking Streve, and much more.
SCIFI VISION: Do you guys or have other people ever played pranks on you just to scare you? Or is it kind of more serious?
AMY BRUNI: No. We're constantly playing pranks on each other.
ADAM BERRY: Oh, God.
AMY BRUNI: Any chance we get to scare each other in the dark we go for it. And, I got Steve really good at that theater - or where was it? At the opera house.
ADAM BERRY: Oh, yes.
AMY BRUNI: Yes. He was climbing - he didn't realize these stairs were leading right up to where Adam and I were grabbing something really quick, and so I'm like, "Oh, be quiet. This is it."
And so Steve comes walking up the stairs and we jumped out and he just screamed and flails backwards and hurls obscenities. And he's just the best person to scare. It's so much fun.
ADAM BERRY: Yes. We also try to scare our crew and the crew tries to scare each other, especially when they're walking through alone and - it's always fun to hear the stories.
AMY BRUNI: We need to make a blooper reel or something like that.
ADAM BERRY: I know. I know.
AMY BRUNI: I don't think there's enough time. It would take up hours.

TAPS Caught "One of the Craziest Bits of Evidence" in Pearl Harbor

Tomorrow night's episode of Ghost Hunters will feature the TAPS team's investigation of Pearl Harbor. The Deadbolt has interviewed Amy & Adam in advance of the episode. They discuss the different areas of the site they investigated, the respect required for an investigation of this type, and the interesting footage (one of the craziest bits of evidence they've caught according to Amy) they shot using full spectrum technology.

Note: The interview and excerpt below does contain some spoilers about tomorrow night's episode.
BERRY: We knew that there was a great deal of respect that had to go into what we were doing. I mean, even though it’s still 69, 70 years later, it is a touchy subject. There are still veterans from the war that are around. But the entire island of Hawaii is very familiar with the incident and what happened, and there’s still a huge Japanese culture there and the Hawaiian culture. So treading lightly was our main focus, and to show as much respect as we could. But also, we were there to investigate. So our questions went along with that. Thanking them, whoever might be there, so that they knew if they were listening that we did mean as much respect as possible.

...
THE DEADBOLT: Can you talk about the light source that was seen in the hangar? What do you guys think that was?

BRUNI: That’s honestly one of the craziest bits of evidence we’ve collected, and we have these new cameras. The fact that we saw something and then put a camera there because we’d seen something, to get evidence as a result of that is amazing in itself because that doesn’t happen very often. Usually you see it and then it’s gone, but these new cameras have been phenomenal. We’ve been seeing the results from the field. There are many people who do what we do, and we were seeing evidence from them coming in from the field and we were like, “We need to get our hands on some of these.” So yes, there’s definitely more coming from those cameras. I think full spectrum technology is probably one of the biggest things that has happened for the paranormal field in a long time.
