Robb Demarest Talks Dustin Pari, Twitter, Martial Arts, & More

Laura Merwin at MassLive.com recently posted an interview with Ghost Hunters International lead investigator Robb Demarest. In the interview Robb discusses Dustin Pari's leaving the show, cancelling his Twitter account, practing martial arts, the revolving cast of GH International, and staying under the radar.

Laura: The cast of GHI has changed radically from the very beginning, from one episode to the next it seems we never know which investigators we’ll be seeing, you seem to be the one constant, what are you doing differently that has kept you coming back each and every episode?

Robb: I know that this has a been a real problem with GHI. The only OG’s (original ghost hunters….or is that OGH?) are Barry and I. Part of the problem is that life on the road for 4-6 weeks at a clip can be tough. That isn’t to say that it isn’t a great opportunity, but I think some people underestimate how grueling it can be. Plus, being away from family and friends takes its toll. It’s a good thing Barry is very resilient and I’m just stubborn.

Laura: The loss of Dustin Pari from the team is quite a shock, are there any other surprises for the new season that you can let us in on?

Robb: Dustin’s departure was tough. I miss the guy on a daily basis. Barry does a great job stepping into that spot. As far as other surprises…Hmmm…Well, Scott Tepperman joins the team. Susan and Karl join us from GHA. A couple more familiar faces leave before the show ends this run, and one returns. Is that cryptic enough for you?

Sneak Peek of 'Sweeney Todd'

See a sneak peek of this Wednesday's all new Ghost Hunters International, 'Sweeney Todd'. Although Todd was a fictional character, the team is searching for the ghost of a possible real life inspiration for the legend (if there is one). An article on MassLive discusses this a little more, including the story of "Mr. Jarman" who supposedly dumped humans into pots of boiling water and then disposed of the remains in a river. This week's investigation takes place at the Ostrich Inn in Colnbrook, England.

PSI-FI Interviews GHI's Dustin Pari

Paranormal Studies and Investigation of Oregon Radio recently interviewed Ghost Hunters International's Dustin Pari. In the interview, Dustin dicusses the new season of GHI, his upcoming book set to be published in 2011 (co-authored with Barry FitzGerald), and much more. Read the whole interview on the PSI-FI Radio website.

PSI-FI: If your children wanted to pursue paranormal research, what advice would you give them?

DUSTIN:

1. Be sure you are in a solid place emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically- with these things in balance you can proceed without much concern.

2. Do it for the right reasons. Reality television isn't what everyone thinks it is. Sure signing autographs at Target is okay, and the look on a child's face when they meet you can be priceless, but if you are thinking of getting into this field to get a show- you are not doing it for the right reasons and in the end you will be discrediting the field more than helping it. Just go on a game show if you need 15 minutes of fame.

3. Wear comfortable shoes- this is pretty much always good advice regardless of what you want to be. Unless your hearts desire is to do something barefoot.

Meet The Newest GHI Guy: Scott Tepperman

Today we are pleased to be presenting our exclusive interview with Ghost Hunters International's newest team member, Scott Tepperman. Scott was mentioned in a previous press release from SyFy and will be joining the team in the upcoming summer season of Ghost Hunters International. In our interview, Scott discusses more about how he become a part of the show, his fellow team members, his goals for the paranormal field, and lots more! You can read the full interview on our website.

What is your past experience in the paranormal field? How were you introduced to it?
I first became interested in the paranormal after becoming intrigued with the actual “Amityville Horror” case in Long Island, NY. Having visited the site several times, I began to learn more about the supposed claims of unexplained activity and became completely obsessed with the subject of hauntings and paranormal activity. I’ve been investigating the paranormal professionally for about 6 years. I moved to Tallahassee, FL in 2004 where I joined a local “ghost hunting” group. In 2008, after being their lead field investigator for nearly 5 years, I decided to launch my own group with another member from that team. ALPHA(http://www.alphaghostteam.com/) was formed to help return the field of the paranormal to its roots: real, raw, responsible and straightforward investigations with no B.S. and no hidden agendas. ALPHA’s goal is to provide individuals with answers by, detailed field work always provided free of charge. Our approach to the field has been well received, as ALPHA is now a very successful organization with a favorable reputation.

How did you become involved in GHI?
I had always planned on trying to get onboard with TAPS or GHI since day one. In 2009, the other ALPHA co-founder and myself entered SyFy’s “Pair-anormal Contest” and actually were semi-finaled to the point that our contest submission was posted on the SyFy website. Since we apparently sparked the interest of someone over at the network, we decided that we would enter any and all contests in hopes that something would eventually stick. I entered the GHA / GHI casting call contest and everything took off from there.
