PSI-FI: If your children wanted to pursue paranormal research, what advice would you give them?
DUSTIN:1. Be sure you are in a solid place emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically- with these things in balance you can proceed without much concern.
2. Do it for the right reasons. Reality television isn't what everyone thinks it is. Sure signing autographs at Target is okay, and the look on a child's face when they meet you can be priceless, but if you are thinking of getting into this field to get a show- you are not doing it for the right reasons and in the end you will be discrediting the field more than helping it. Just go on a game show if you need 15 minutes of fame.
3. Wear comfortable shoes- this is pretty much always good advice regardless of what you want to be. Unless your hearts desire is to do something barefoot.

Dustin Pari Talks Spirit Kids, Writing, Traveling, & More
“The Silver Shadow investigation is one that became very emotional for me,” he recalls. “I wasn’t expecting it, but the little house and the story of the young child who died there kind of pulled at the heartstrings. Being a father and having children myself, any time there’s a report of an apparition or the spirit of a child being left behind, it’s always something I focus on and see if there is anything I can do to get that spirit to come forward. And more importantly, to urge it to move on from that place.
“As much as I enjoy documenting paranormal activity, I’m not there to leave the place haunted, especially if it’s something like that. When that little shadow kind of stepped out and showed itself, it definitely scared me quite a bit. Again, I wasn’t expecting it and it really startled me. However, I did stay there and try to speak to it further about how to move on.
“The thing is, I look at ghost hunting as more of a spiritual thing, and to have witnessed as well as captured firsthand evidence of some sort of afterlife or spirit world, is especially gratifying for me. Also, on a personal level, to be able to reach out to the spirit of that child hopefully made a difference. I really hope that the little guy found his way out of there.

New Dustin & Barry Interview Mentions GHA Recruits
Question> The other companion show to your show is Ghost Hunters Academy. And I had watched all six episodes of that. And it looks like two people have graduated from the academy and will be joining you in their investigations. But I didn't know if they’re coming on board the end of this season or next season; do you guys know when?
Dustin> No I was just saying that we haven't filmed with them as of yet. The episodes that are airing currently are the ones we had just finished up while those guys were actually in the academy.

The Deadbolt Interviews Dustin & Barry
THE DEADBOLT: Barry, how hard or easy is it to spook you?
BARRY
FITZGERALD: [laughs] My biggest nemesis has to be mannequins. I have to say that those truly frighten the living hell out of me, because I have my mind set on I'm there to do a job, I'm there to look for ghosts, and all of a sudden this
dummy will be leaning against somewhere, maybe where it shouldn't have been
before, and it truly frightens the hell out of me.In Argentina, in the case that's coming up, that they had the death images that were taken back in Victorian times, where people would be propped up with different things around them and a photograph was taken. So I was in a dark room with my own camera taking photographs of these photographs, because I've never actually seen them before, and the only thing light-wise I had was the auto focus on the camera.
So, as you can imagine, as I turned around there was a small dummy of a child leaning against the wall and I screamed louder than Brandy Green ever could and all of them grabbed their stomachs laughing at me. I get spooked by those
things, I really do.
