Of the six investigations, which was your favorite? Why?
GOD!! That is a tough question.... I mean I want to say The Stanley... of course.. it was terrifyingly brillant but I also really really loved the Ohio State Reformatory... We got to stay at the Stanley and we were always surrounded by paranormal activity which was great. The history was rich and a novel was based off of the experiences that happens at the Stanley. The prison was huge and there were so many things that happened that no one could explain. it was almost like the spirits were playing with us tricking us to do what they wanted US to do. Plus i loved working with Michelle!
SyFy recently announced their fall schedule which included the usual Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, as well as the new comer Fact or Faked. The one show that the press release failed to mention was Ghost Hunters Academy, which has previously premiered in November. Does this mean that the show has hit the chopping block and it will be no more? A quick look at the Pilgrim Film & Television website reveals that Ghost Hunters Academy is ominously absent from their list of shows (while it has previously been on it). As of now, the future is looking dark for Academy and all of the hopefuls who planned on making it onto the show.
CapeCast recently posted a video interview on YouTube with Ghost Hunters Academy winner Adam Berry. Adam talks about his approach towards ghost hunting, the scariest moment from the show, and confirms that he will be joining the TAPS team in the fall. Plus, you can hear some of Adam's musical talent at the start of the show.
Interviewer: So Adam, take us to the scariest moment in your experience with ghosts. Where were you, what did you feel? Adam: You know, I think on the show the scariest place was the Ohio State Reformatory. I mean that place was huge, it was a prison, it was where they filmed Shawshank. They had thousands of people die and like it was bloody and nasty. I think that we started hearing sounds and different things that we couldn't explain and couldn't pinpoint and couldn't find it was like they were playing a game with us. And they wanted us to like run us around like an amusement park. And I think that was probably the scariest moment.

What was your reaction when you heard that you were going to be a part of 'Ghost Hunters Academy'? Well....when I got the call saying that I was on the show, I went nuts! I was screaming and jumping around.....it was insane. I don't think I slept at all that night, haha.
Good news today for fans of Ghost Hunters Academy who live in the UK, since LivingIt is going to be airing the first episode of season 1 (aired in the United States in November-December 2009) on July 21, 2010. That leaves just a few weeks to go until fans across the pond will be able to watch the show. 'Web of Deceit' will air July 21 at 9:00 PM (as well as at 10:00 PM the same day, 7/22 at 1:00 AM & 2:00 AM, and on 7/25 at 9:00 & 10:00 PM). The second episode , 'The Honeymoon's Over' will be shown on July 28 at 9:00 PM.
Karl Pfeiffer, who appeared in the previous season of Ghost Hunters Academy, recently spoke about his short lived stint with Ghost Hunters International and returing to school. Karl Pfeiffer filmed one episode with the International team, which will be featured on the season premiere of Ghost Hunters International in July. Karl is not sure if he will be in any more International episodes, but did say this about the season premiere "it's [the episode] actually a really good case". Karl is still investigating locally in Colorado and plans to continue his work with the paranormal.
After a successful run on the show, Pfeiffer was one of two ghostly graduates to be cast on the third season of Ghost Hunters International, which premiers mid-July. But as the investigator-in-training heads back to school in the fall, he says his run with GHI has been cut short. "I just did one episode," Pfeiffer says, adding that episode is slated to be the premiere July 14th. "That's what it turned out to be at this point."
Pfeiffer says he's not sure if he'll be cast for any more episodes despite his graduation from Academy, which earned him a coveted spot with the paranormal investigators who hunt down hauntings across the world.
"There's a possibility, but they really haven't told me much at this point," he says. "I'm not really too sure. They've been juggling a lot of different cast members for the show. They're just trying to get their feet on the ground."
Swallowing some of that disappointment, Pfeiffer says the filming for his sole episode in the upcoming season -- at the Halls of Justice in Nottingham, England -- was by far the most interesting.
"I can't tell too much, but it's actually a really good case," he adds. "And I think it's going to be a really good premiere for the show."

Recently eliminated Ghost Hunters Academy cadet Brett McGinnis said that he has no regrets regarding his appearance on the show. In the same interview with the Allied News, Brett also said that he wished he had progressed further, but it was still fun. He admitted that he had a head cold during the investigation and that Jason Hawes later told him that he was "a winner already", having been chosen from over a thousand applicants. Brett still maintains a postivie attitude about his experience, saying “I don’t think it will affect my integrity a a ghost hunter... nothing bad, just good can come of it.”.
“I wish I would have progressed a little bit further but as far as what I did, I don’t have any regrets. It was a lot of fun. I would do it again. It was definitely worth it,” said McGinnis of his time on the show.
McGinnis was eliminated mainly because of an error he made during an investigation. He forgot to attach an IR illuminator Ð a device that extends infrared vision Ð to his camera.
Others believe McGinnis was eliminated for a different reason.
“Some of the cadets made it seem like I lost some passion but that’s not true,” said McGinnis, admitting he had a head cold while filming.
“That was kind of wearing on me a little bit.”
Even after the elimination, McGinnis maintained a positive attitude.“Jason Hawes (founder of The Atlantic Paranormal Society) told me even after the show that I had been selected over tens of thousands of applicants and that I was a winner already. And then progressing to the third investigation, I felt pretty good,” McGinnis said.

DaemonsTV has posted an early review of tonight's season premiere episode of Ghost Hunters Academy. The reviewer liked the changes made to the show format, noting that a recruit is eliminated in each episode by Jason Hawes, and that "[Jason] comes off as a tough judge that is going to tell people straight, and so far it's made for some great television." They continue saying that they are looking forward to future episodes and that it is "much more" than a typical reality show.

Adam Berry, who will be joining the cast of Ghost Hunters Academy next Wednesday, was recently featured on a local news website. In the article, Berry talks about his life changing paranormal experience at the Gettysburg battlefield and his run in with residual hauntings as a child. Adam has also founded the Provincetown Paranormal Research Society in Mass. and although he applied for Academy in fall of 2008, the producers wanted him to appear in a later season. He describes himself as " level-headed and not easily frightened " and is willing to sit in the dark, hunting for ghosts for "as long as it takes". Here's a list of all the locations the cadets will be visiting this season.
Ever wanted to able to hunt for ghosts just like Steve, Dave, Jason, Grant, and the rest of the TAPS team, without all the hassle of actually having to do much? If you said yes, you might just be in luck because SyFy has just announced that they have plans to produce a video game based on the new series Ghost Hunters Academy that will be available in an iPhone, iPad, and Nintendo platforms (however this may be expanded in the future). The iPhone version will also use augmented reality in conjuction with the unit's camera feature in order to create odd images (ie ghosts) onscreen. The article doesn't mention when SyFy plans to release the game, however it is likely that it will come out before the end of the year.
The two companies are also working to bring Syfy television franchises to consoles and PCs, starting with a game based on the upcoming reality series Ghost Hunters Academy. In development by THQ for the Nintendo DS, Apple iPhone and iPad platforms, the game will have players trying out to join the Ghost Hunters team. The iPhone version will also utilize the device's camera for an augmented reality feature.
"Both Ghost Hunters and Red Faction [another video game planned for 2010] are great examples of how we are absolutely committed to [gaming], and it is going to be more than just taking the name, it is going to really be part of the overall experience," Seiffert says.
Thanks to Twitter, we have learned a few nuggets of new information about the upcoming season of Ghost Hunters Academy, set to premiere in June. Two tweets from Jason reveal that yesterday, one recruit was sent home and that the cadets are ages 18 to 40 this time, not just in college. Today the Mark Twain house posted a photo on their account that showed the GHA RV and the message 'Look who came to visit this week!'. We knew previously that Jason would have a larger involvement in Academy and these new developments seem to indicate that this is the case. TAPS investigated the Twain house in Season 4, but lost a lot of evidence due to a hard drive failure. Hopefully the recruits have had better luck.

Today marks one year since SciFi morphed itself into the newly rebranded SyFy, and in a press release published today, SyFy outlined some changes to the Ghost Hunters franchise. First up Ghost Hunters Academy is set to evolve into more of a competition series in which hopeful recruits are elminated weekly by the one and only Jason Hawes. Plus, Ghost Hunters International will see an addition in the form of a new team member, Scott Tepperman. I think that this Scott Tepperman from Alpha Ghost Team in New York is the same one mentioned in the press release.
Ghost Hunters Academy evolves into a competition series where each week, a different ghost hunting hopeful is voted off by one of the ultimate judges of paranormal investigating, Jason Hawes. Ghost Hunters International will add a new cast member (Scott Tepperman). Both shows are spin-offs of Ghost Hunters, television's #1 paranormal investigative franchise.
New episodes of Ghost Hunters Academy won't return until June, but in the meantime you can watch the recently posted video auditions of the new recruits that will be appearing on the show this summer. The eight new Academy auditions are from Eric Baldino, Brett McGinnis, Natalie Poole, Adam Berry, Vera Martinez, Michelle Tate, Rosalyn Brown, and Daniel Hwang.
