March 10 Episode: TAPS Visits Fort Ticonderoga

A reviewer at Daemons TV had a chance to check out any early copy of the March 10 episode of Ghost Hunters, 'Fort Ticonderoga'. The 18th century fort is located in New York and the site of many battles, many of which may have contributed to its reputation of being a hotbed for paranormal activity. The reviewer does not give any of the exact details away, but notes that "[the episode is] definitely an episode worth checking out" , although Grant is absent from the investigation.
Some of the paranormal claims include full apparitions, foot steps, voices, mysterious smoke, and drum noises. Jason and Steve lead this investigation (Grant is absent from this particular episode) along with help of Amy, Kris, Britt, and Tango. Although I missed Grant, the rest of the cast did a great job. I think Kris and Amy do a nice job on counter balancing all the testosterone on the show.

Fort Ticonderoga proves to be a worthwhile endeavor for the TAPS team. As always, the team tries to debunk as much as possible but they were still left with some unexplainable evidence. I don't want to give anything away, but this is definitely an episode worth checking out. I can't wait to see what else Season 6 of Ghost Hunters has in store for us. As they say on the show, on to the next!

TAPS Investigates New Jersey Bar & Grill

The New Jersey Bar & Grill in Mine Hill, New Jersey will soon be featured in an upcoming episode of Ghost Hunters this April, reports the Daily Record. The TAPS team visited the grill in repsonse to the claims of odd shadows and moving objects that have been witnessed by employees. The owner hopes that the team will be able to find some answers to his paranormal questions and if not, at least get some publicity from the TV show. The team spent two days at the location investigating it top to bottom for any signs of paranormal activity. The bar plans to have a party when the episode airs in April.

Jason Hawes, 38, and Grant Wilson, 35, the lead paranormal investigators who spent parts of Monday and Tuesday scouring the building with sensitive audio and visual equipment to capture anything out of the norm. Their investigation will be documented in an episode of "Ghost Hunters" in April, according to Galdieri.

They arrived in several black SUVs, a camera crew in tow along with fellow investigators.

"We're there to separate fact from fiction," he said.

Hawes quickly pointed out that not everything is haunted. A glass moving on its own, for instance, doesn't mean it's haunted. It's paranormal, he said. Now if a ghost is moving the glass — then it's haunted, he said.

Hawes and Wilson said their job is to try to give the home or business owner some peace of mind. They have two goals: to capture any activity deemed paranormal, and to come up with a natural or normal reason for it.

That unexplained bump in the night might be noises made by bad plumbing, for example.

"We're careful with how we present (information)," Wilson said. "We're skeptics ourselves."

They said about 80 percent of their investigations result in natural explanations. The other 20 percent, however, have involved objects moving on their own, bed sheets hovering above the mattress. They investigated the Union County Courthouse in New Jersey and said they encountered a spectral image of a woman wearing a shawl who turned a corner and disappeared into the hall of records.

TAPS to Hunt Ghosts at Conn. Mental Hospital

Representatives from SyFy have reached an agreement with Preston, Connecticut to film an episode of Ghost Hunters at the Norwich Hospital property, well known in the area to be supposedly haunted. The hospital served the mentally insane until 1996. City officials hope that the hospital's appearance on television will increase publicity for the city.

The reality television show “Ghost Hunters” has reached agreement with Preston to film at the former Norwich Hospital property, the program’s supervising producer said last week.

Supervising Producer Matthew Meltzer said an agreement between the town’s attorney and production company Pilgrim Films Television was signed and is being sent to Preston for final signatures. He declined to say when filming would begin, as he doesn’t want a crowd.

“The Norwich State Hospital’s reputation as a haunted location is pretty well known in New England,” Meltzer said.

This year’s series has 25 episodes beginning March 3. Meltzer said he believes the Preston segment would be one hour long. He does not know yet when it would air.
First Selectman Robert Congdon said the filming has pluses and minuses.

“It brings attention to the site,” he said. “From a marketing standpoint, it may help some that more people know about the site.”

But Congdon said it may also make it harder to keep people out of unsafe buildings.

Dustin Pari Talks Spirit Kids, Writing, Traveling, & More

In a new interview with SciFi and TV Talk, Ghost Hunters International investigator Dustin Pari talks about several of the cases that were featured during the current season of Ghost Hunters International, how the shadow of a child he saw in Argentina affected him, traveling, and his second book that he co-authored with fellow GHI investigator Barry FitzGerald entitled So My Home Is Haunted, Now What?. The full interview can be read here.

“The Silver Shadow investigation is one that became very emotional for me,” he recalls. “I wasn’t expecting it, but the little house and the story of the young child who died there kind of pulled at the heartstrings. Being a father and having children myself, any time there’s a report of an apparition or the spirit of a child being left behind, it’s always something I focus on and see if there is anything I can do to get that spirit to come forward. And more importantly, to urge it to move on from that place.

“As much as I enjoy documenting paranormal activity, I’m not there to leave the place haunted, especially if it’s something like that. When that little shadow kind of stepped out and showed itself, it definitely scared me quite a bit. Again, I wasn’t expecting it and it really startled me. However, I did stay there and try to speak to it further about how to move on.

“The thing is, I look at ghost hunting as more of a spiritual thing, and to have witnessed as well as captured firsthand evidence of some sort of afterlife or spirit world, is especially gratifying for me. Also, on a personal level, to be able to reach out to the spirit of that child hopefully made a difference. I really hope that the little guy found his way out of there.

Syfy Sneak Peek: The Legend of Rose Hall

The season premiere of Ghost Hunters International is rapidly approaching and if you want to get a sneak peek at what's to come look no further than below!

Kris Williams Interviews Orleans Historical Society

Previously, we heard reports that TAPS had filmed an investigation at the Orleans Waterfront Inn in Orleans, Mass. earlier this month. Today, Wicked Local has made a new post that mentions a visit Kris Williams made to interview a member of the Orleans Historial Society to find out more concrete information about the three ghosts that haunt the inn. One lucky teenage fan also got the chance to meet Kris while she was there for the interview.

When Tamsen Cornell’s teenage daughter sat down with her father Sunday to watch a marathon of her favorite show, she did so with a freshly penned autograph from one of the stars.

Cornell, museum director of Orleans Historical Society, doesn’t usually brush up against fame but in the past week two television crews have set up in the society’s museum on River Road.

“It was very exciting,” said Cornell, who is thrilled some of the artifacts in the building will get a wider audience. “We’ll see if it draws any tourists.”

The crew from the Sci-Fi channel’s “Ghost Hunters” did an interview with historian Bonnie Snow at the society last Friday after spending an evening looking for ghosts at the Orleans Inn. Snow wasn’t as star struck as the Cornells when she met Kris Williams, a paranormal researcher from the show.

Since she didn’t know anything about the ghosts, Snow ended up telling the “Ghost Hunter” group numerous nuggets of Orleans history. But, she said with a laugh, she is certain they are going to end up on the cutting room floor.

Cornell said the ghost hunters were looking for more information on the three ghosts said to haunt the inn. There are only first names of the two men and a woman who died there. One, Hannah, was a lady of the night when the inn was used as a brothel in the 1920s. She was murdered in front of the inn.

TAPS Investigates Cape Cod's Orleans Inn

The Cape Cod Times is reporting that TAPS recently investigated the Orleans Waterfront Inn in Cape Cod, Mass. The 1875 inn is reportedly home to numerous ghosts, among them a bartender, streetwalker, and dishwasher. The SyFy crew arrived at the location in early February and the episode featuring The Orleans Inn is expected to air sometime during the upcoming sixth season of Ghost Hunters, premiering March 3.

ORLEANS — Investigators from the Syfy Channel show "Ghost Hunters" have
checked out reports of ghosts at the 1875 Orleans Inn on Town Cove.

A show about the inn will air sometime in the program's sixth season, which begins March 3, a Syfy spokeswoman said Thursday.

Among the inn's ghosts are Hannah, a streetwalker in the 1920s; Fred, a bartender in the 1950s; and Paul, a dishwasher in the 1970s; along with a few cat ghosts, according to owner Ed Maas' book, "Ghost of the Orleans Inn." Michael Belcher of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce attracted the Syfy Channel's attention to the inn. The chamber's membership director said he is not among the show's viewers but said his wife watches every Wednesday night.

In the first week of this month, a crew of 25 people from the show spent four days at the inn, Maas said.
